Today, there is an on-going and ever expanding study of European based armed and unarmed martial arts. This study is the foundation of what is commonly referred to as Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), and encompasses a wide range of activities.  One significant branch of HEMA, and the one that MASHS is dedicated to, is Historical European Swordsmanship.

Located in Annapolis, Maryland, MASHS offers comprehensive training in a variety of historical weapons, from the medieval longsword to the dueling weapons of the 19th century.  We do this in a safe and friendly atmosphere.   Explore our website to learn more about what we do, and how we do it.  Then come and join the practitioners at MASHS and learn how to fence with these historical weapons.
